✏️ About the position:

The Senior Operations Manager will oversee legal, compliance, HR, finance, and administrative functions while ensuring smooth operational execution. The role will also involve engaging with government ministries and supporting strategic growth. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong governance, financial acumen, legal, and people management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal and Compliance Oversight

  • Compliance and Legal Structure: Ensure the appropriate legal structure to ensure compliance with local, regional, and national laws.
  • Registration and Licensing: Support external partners and acquire necessary licenses and permits, and ensure all legal documentation is in place.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts (e.g., vendor agreements, NDAs, membership agreements, MoUs).
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant laws and industry regulations.
  • Office Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement office policies, including health and safety regulations, security protocols, and general operational guidelines.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal and operational risks.
Operational Excellence

  • Operational Oversight: Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of daily operations.
  • Process Improvement: Establish and continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase impact.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement controls to maintain high operational standards.
  • Facilities Management: Oversee office infrastructure, IT, utilities, and maintenance services.
Finance Management

  • Budgeting & Planning: Oversee financial planning, resource allocation, and sustainability efforts.
  • Accounting Systems: Set up and manage an external payroll partner, including expense tracking systems.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit financial reports for board and regulatory bodies.
Human Resources and Talent Management

  • HR Policies and Compliance: Develop HR policies and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Employee Relations: Oversee grievance handling, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Develop talent acquisition strategies, manage job postings, and oversee the hiring process.
  • Talent Development: Implement employee training, career development, and retention strategies.
Government & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Government Liaison: Represent SFC India in meetings with ministries and government officials.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with donors, non-profits, and industry partners.
  • Advocacy & Policy Influence: Support leadership in shaping regulatory policies that align with SFC India's goals.
  • Community Relations: Engage with local communities to align organizational services with their needs.
Leadership and Team Development

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a high-performing operations team.
  • Performance Management: Establish KPIs and conduct regular evaluations.
  • Strategic Planning: Assist the CEO in developing and implementing long-term strategies.
Ideal candidate
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in operations, legal compliance, HR, or finance management.
  • Experience in working with government ministries and regulatory bodies.
  • Strong financial management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of compliance and regulatory affairs.
