Partnerships Intern - SFC India

Intern / Student, Full-time · SFC India

Job description
Are you passionate about reducing the climate impacts originating from multiple industry sectors involved in transport, freight, and logistics? The Senior Partnerships Manager at SFC India is seeking an intern to strengthen her team. What about working alongside some of the largest companies and NGOs in the world to drive their initiatives towards a decarbonized planet? To help achieve our mission, we need more highly skilled and motivated people to join our international team.

About Smart Freight Centre

Smart Freight Centre (SFC) is a globally active non-profit organization for climate action in the freight sector. We are enablers for those who believe in united action to reduce logistics greenhouse gas emissions. Through creating a single, international methodology for tracking freight emissions we drive transparency to enable emission reductions. SFC brings together multi-nationals, forwarders & carriers, NGOs, and governments in our collaborative initiatives, trainings, and programs. Together, we help solve the business challenges   behind   reducing freight emissions and impact the industry standards. Our goal is to guide the industry to track and reduce its GHG emissions by 1 billion tonnes by 2030 and reach zero emissions by 2050 or earlier.

About the position

Your primary responsibility is to support SFC India’s freight decarbonization agenda with a focus on research & analysis and partnership support, underpinned by ecosystem mapping. You will structure data collection, collate evidence, draft briefings and slide-ready summaries, and maintain partner/engagement trackers to inform strategy and implementation planning. Day to day, you’ll coordinate with shippers, LSPs, OEMs, financiers, industry bodies, NGOs and government stakeholders, working closely with SFC’s global technical team and India-based suppliers.

While this is a partnerships internship, your work will align to SFC’s established frameworks—GLEC for emissions accounting and methodologies from SFC’s global Zero-Emission Trucks (ZET) pilots. You won’t design methods, but you will help apply them: gathering inputs, scanning policy/market developments, and translating partner insights into concise notes and materials.

To thrive here, you’ll bring intellectual curiosity, clear writing, organised follow-through, and comfort collaborating across time zones and functions. We’re looking for a final-year student or recent graduate in engineering, supply chain, environmental science, public policy or a related field, with strong research and communication skills and a demonstrated interest in e-mobility and freight decarbonization. This is a full-time, 6-month internship based in India.

This position will give you the opportunity to work with some of India’s largest shippers, LSPs and Carriers, including some of the world's biggest public-facing companies (FT500 or equivalent).
