Junior Data & Analysis Manager (Fleet Electrification Coalition)

Fixed-term, Full-time · Amsterdam

Job description
✈️ About Smart Freight Centre
Think about the package that just arrived at your doorstep; the products on store shelves, or the goods being shipped across oceans. Logistics is everywhere, powering the world we live in. And because it’s everywhere, it’s also one of the biggest contributors to emissions globally.
That’s where Smart Freight Centre (SFC) steps in. We’re tackling the carbon footprint of logistics head-on, working with businesses, governments, and key players around the globe. Our mission? To transform the logistics sector into a zero-emission industry by 2050—or hopefully even sooner.

✏️ About the position
Freight trucks are a major source of global greenhouse gas emissions and local air pollution, and electrifying road freight is one of the most effective strategies to decarbonize logistics at scale.

As Junior Data & Analysis Manager, you will support the execution of total cost of ownership (TCO), emissions, and related economic analyses that underpin the Fleet Electrification Coalition’s (FEC) work. You will contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of standardized processes for data intake, validation, and model inputs, helping ensure analytical consistency, credibility, and efficiency across projects.

You will work under the guidance of the Senior Technical Manager, collaborating closely on analytics workflows, model updates, quality checks, and performance improvements. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role with opportunities to grow technical depth and sector expertise over time.
This role is central to translating datasets into clear, actionable insights that support investment decision-making and help accelerate large-scale electric truck deployment. You will work closely with FEC project leads and engage with shippers, logistics service providers, carriers, investors, truck manufacturers, and policymakers as part of project delivery.

 Hours: 40 hours/week
 Location: Amsterdam (hybrid work)
€   Salary range: €3,583 – €4,167 gross per month (based on full-time, 40 hours), including 8% holiday allowance, depending on experience.
 Starting date: ASAP

Here’s an idea of what tasks you might be working on
Data Intake and Analysis
  • Support standardized processes for gathering, cleaning, validating, and organising input data (e.g. lanes, volumes, operational characteristics).
  • Apply agreed data standards consistently across projects to reduce duplication and repeated data requests.
  • Contribute to maintaining high data quality to support credible analysis and decision-making.
TCO and Emissions Modelling and Analysis
  • Support updates and improvements to existing TCO modelling tools and workflows.
  • Run TCO and emissions analyses for Fleet Electrification projects using established tools and methodologies.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating model inputs (e.g. energy prices, incentives, subsidies, taxes, emission factors), following agreed assumptions.
  • Provide structured feedback from project use-cases to inform model refinement and improvements.
Insight Generation and Communication
  • Translate analytical outputs into clear and concise insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop visual outputs such as charts, tables, maps, and dashboards using Excel, BI tools, and GIS platforms.
  • Support internal and external presentations, workshops, and project meetings as needed.
Project Delivery Support
  • Work with project managers to integrate emissions and economic analyses into demand aggregation, ecosystem engagement, and procurement activities.
  • Support scenario testing, sensitivity analyses, and preparation of analytical inputs for RFPs, toolkits, and site-level assessments.
  • Maintain clear documentation of datasets, assumptions, methodologies, and outputs.

As the ideal candidate you can demonstrate
Required
  • 3–5 years’ experience in data analytics, modelling, or quantitative analysis (transport, energy, or infrastructure experience preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience running structured quantitative analyses.
  • Experience with Python or similar languages for data manipulation.
  • High proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI or Tableau preferred.
  • Experience with or exposure to GIS modelling.
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and explaining analytical results clearly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multi-stakeholder project environments.
Preferred
  • Exposure to freight transport, electric vehicles, or energy infrastructure.
  • Interest in climate, sustainability, and decarbonisation topics.
