SFC's Maritime Platform
SFC convenes carriers, cargo owners, ports, regulators, and industry leaders to accelerate scalable maritime decarbonization. 

Key initiatives include:
  • Clean Cargo– Industry-leading platform for carrier emissions reporting and benchmarking
  • Global Ro-Ro Community (GRC)– Advancing transparency in vehicle and rolling cargo supply chains
  • Ship Recycling Transparency Initiative (SRTI)– Promoting responsible ship recycling practices
Together, these initiatives create trusted infrastructure for emissions transparency, data harmonization, and collaborative decarbonization.

 ✏️About the position 
This is not a conventional technical maritime role. 
It is a strategic ecosystem leadership position at the intersection of shipping, ports, logistics, and climate strategy. 
As Strategy Lead – Maritime (Senior Technical Manager), you will support the next phase of SFC’s global maritime strategy, strengthening emissions transparency, industry collaboration, and zero-emission pathways, while acting as a strategic partner to the Director of Maritime. 
You will work with global carriers, ports, regulators, cargo owners, and financial institutions, translating emerging frameworks into practical, scalable industry initiatives. 
Working in a hybrid setup with the Director Maritime, Executive Director India, and global teams, you will support expansion across South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and other key regions. 
 
  Strategic Initiatives You Will Support 
You will help advance several next-generation maritime decarbonization initiatives, including: 
  • Green Shipping Corridors
    Enabling collaboration to accelerate zero-emission shipping routes
  • Port-Wide Emissions Baselining
    Developing frameworks to measure emissions across port ecosystems
  • Harmonised Emissions Accounting
    Advancing adoption of frameworks such as GLEC and ISO 14083
  • Ship Recycling & Circularity
    Supporting collaboration to enable circular maritime value chains
  • New Maritime Communities
    Exploring new industry platforms such as Breakbulk communities
  • Global Program Expansion
    Strengthening SFC’s maritime footprint across emerging markets and strategic regions
What You Will Lead
Program Strategy & Development
Shape and evolve maritime initiatives, including Clean Cargo and GRC and emerging programs, identifying new opportunities for industry collaboration and impact.
Ecosystem Partnerships 
Build strategic partnerships across carriers, ports, cargo owners, regulators, research institutions and development banks. 
Emissions Transparency & Data Platforms 
Advance industry adoption of credible emissions accounting frameworks, strengthening Scope 3 transparency across global maritime supply chains.
Strategic Projects 
Lead initiatives related to green corridors, port decarbonization, circular ship recycling and value-chain emissions transparency.
Thought Leadership 
Represent SFC in global industry forums, policy platforms and international conferences, helping position the organization as a leading convener on maritime decarbonization.
Executive Enablement & Strategic Coordination 
Act as the Director Maritime’s execution multiplier – orchestrating priorities, managing executive communications, and driving strategic cadence. Lead briefing materials, board decks and decision memos, while ensuring KPI tracking, cross-functional follow-through, and conversion of discussions into measurable outcomes, underpinned by strong documentation discipline and institutional memory.

Experience & Background 
We welcome candidates with 12–15 years of experience across maritime, logistics, infrastructure, or climate strategy, including: 
  • Shipping, ports, or maritime engineering
  • Maritime sustainability or decarbonization initiatives
  • Consultancy or industry bodies
  • Government or regulatory roles
  • Multilateral or development institutions 
Education 
Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or related field.
Additional Capabilities 
  • Strong understanding of maritime regulations and decarbonization frameworks
  • Experience in public-private partnerships or industry alliances
  • Ability to engage senior global stakeholders
  • Experience in international forums or policy environments
  • Strong strategic and analytical capabilities
  • Operational maritime experience (preferred but not required
